Sardinia: B&B, Domo and CAV reclassification extended to 30 April 2027

The Autonomous Region of Sardinia has given final approval to the extension, until 30 April 2027, of the deadline for reclassifying existing non-hotel accommodation businesses. Decision no. 47/2 of 23 September 2026 confirms the earlier Decision no. 39/27 of 22 July 2026.

The new deadline: by 30 April 2027, the businesses concerned must check the requirements in the regional directives, complete any necessary work and file the required declaration through SUAPE.

Which businesses are covered

The extension applies to existing and authorised Bed & Breakfasts, Domos — including former Affittacamere and Locande — and Case e appartamenti per vacanze (CAV).

It is therefore not a general extension for every property offered to tourists: ordinary tourist rentals are not among the accommodation categories covered by this reclassification.

What operators should do

  • compare the property’s current position with the functional and classification requirements in the regional directives;
  • plan any necessary alterations in good time;
  • file the reclassification or confirmation declaration for the relevant category through SUAPE;
  • retain the receipt, application and evidence supporting each declaration.

Why it is best not to wait until April

The extension provides extra time, but the review may require documents, technical checks or work on the property. Sardinia’s Regional Council has also referred to the consequences of failing to comply with the reclassification duties. Operators should therefore start their checks early rather than treating 30 April 2027 as the date on which to begin.

AIBBA note: before filing, check the exact category stated in the authorising document and use the SUAPE procedure provided for the relevant Municipality. The extension does not replace the business’s other ordinary compliance duties.
