PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE · SUMMARY

Liability Insurance explained in brief

Under the applicable regional regulations, the hotelier/owner of a residential unit rented to third parties is responsible for damage to property or persons present in the accommodation, pursuant to Articles 1578 et seq. of the Italian Civil Code. For this reason, AIBBA & AgICAV has arranged an insurance policy reserved for its members, specifically intended to cover the professional liability risk connected with operating B&Bs/room-rental businesses and tourist apartments/holiday homes.

The policy is designed to meet the insurance requirements requested by public administrations for the issue of the relevant operating authorisations, or to provide public-liability cover for ordinary apartments rented under standard tenancy agreements in Italy. For information beyond what is available on these web pages, and for possible additional covers (fire, recourse by third parties, etc.), please follow the contact details for our Broker.
